Many years of combined knowledge, travel to the places of origin, and indulgence in the finer things in life have allowed us to truly understand and appreciate a wee dram of “uisgue beatha,” the water of life! We love Scotch! You name any libation: Whiskey, Tequila, Rum, Gin, Vodka, or any other assortment of liquor or liqueurs… we know what to use in the well or top shelf! We are always learning more.

We carry your favorite domestic, foreign, and local staples along with a seasonal rotating beer menu. Drink 100 different beers as a member of “Scots Jimmy’s Mug Club” and we’ll let you paint a brick on the wall!

PUB FAIR

Meat Pies, Short Bread, Jerky, Crisps, and various other options will be available for your sweet tooth! Eventually you will have the options of classic pub fair like Bangers and Mash, Neeps and Tatties, Shephard’s Pie, Fish n’ Chips, and yes… Haggis!

Jimmy has worked in the food service industry off and on for more than twenty years. He holds a degree in History with a minor in Geography from the University of Northern Colorado and has worked in restaurants, bars, event venues, summer camps, political arenas, and for non-profits. His knowledge of bartending, the history of alcohol, and world history lend to his abilities to concoct amazing cocktails that you’ll be sure to enjoy til the last wee sip!

Day 4 I headed to the Highlands, in fact the highest point in the UK, Ben Nevis. Since I had gotten so much rest and relaxation the day prior I woke up really early, left Edinburgh around 6AM and a few hours later I was at the Ben Nevis Visitor Cente
Day 4 I headed to the Highlands, in fact the highest point in the UK, Ben Nevis. Since I had gotten so much rest and relaxation the day prior I woke up really early, left Edinburgh around 6AM and a few hours later I was at the Ben Nevis Visitor Center near Fort William. It’s been awhile since I’ve hiked a mountain, and it did not disappoint! Stunning and magical views. Slammed a Brewdog at the top and made my way back down quickly due to how cold and windy it was. Luckily, the Ben Nevis Inn sits right at the base of the mountain so I was able to grab a cider, some haggis with neeps and tatties, venison sausage, and washed down with a cold Guinness. Afterwards, I drove a few hours to Inverness and sang more karaoke, pub hopped, and made new friends. Overall, I was awake for nearly 22 hours!
Day 3 in Alba. I kept it really chill because I had been out at the Grassmarket singing karaoke with lovely Scots til about 4AM the night prior. After rest, I made the decision to hang out in Edinburgh and made my way the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society

After rest, I made the decision to hang out in Edinburgh and made my way the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society in Leith, where I became a member and had a wonderful meal of fish and chips, a dram, and beer. From there I walked out to the docks and visited a lovely pub called Teuchter’s Landing. (A Teuchter is “a Scottish word, primarily used in the Lowlands, to describe a person from the Highlands, often with a derogatory or condescending connotation, implying they are a country bumpkin or unsophisticated.”) Great pub name for sure! I then visited Leith Distillery and made my way back my hotel using the tram and stopped at one more spot called The Black Fox, where the bonnie bartender Lucy helped me directionally after my phone had died.
Day 2 in the old country, Caledonia! Yesterday, I visited the site of where the original Dickson, Thomas Dickson, son of Richard de Keith, and Hereditary Castellan of Douglas Castle, Laird of Symondstone and Hazleside, was laid to rest at St. Bride&r
Day 2 in the old country, Caledonia! Yesterday, I visited the site of where the original Dickson, Thomas Dickson, son of Richard de Keith, and Hereditary Castellan of Douglas Castle, Laird of Symondstone and Hazleside, was laid to rest at St. Bride’s Kirk after he died in battle in defense of Scotland from English invaders in 1307. This visit made me want to go to another Dickson related spot in Edinburgh know as Maggie Dickson’s, so I ended up there after a few pints and drams at The Abbey, The Mother Superior (where the barkeep Hannah whipped up a new highball cocktail with my critique), and the Scotch Whisky Experience. I ended my very late night at a few more Grasssmarket pubs. I also bantered with quite a few Broncos fans from Colorado and England. ‘Twas a glorious day!

Day one (yesterday) update in Scotland (via England 🤮): Drove from my very early arrival flight at London Heathrow six hours straight to Dumfries, where I visited a few pubs, Robert Burn’s House, stayed at a lovely Bed and Breakfast, and shopped for some essential attire (sporran, socks, brooch, Jacobite shirt, etc). The fall colors through England were great along the drive, but Scotland is more Bonnie. Finding inspiration at the pubs I’ve visited so far, especially from the amazing barkeeps! As expected, the Scots are lovely and more than willing to share their knowledge and silly banter! I got a solid night’s rest and will have more stories from arriving in Edinburgh, where I am staying until tomorrow.
